ok well i'm a girl and i want to wear my hair up for prom but the only problem is i have like 1 1/2 inch roots from my highlights!! my hair is light brown and my highlights are blonde. my hair stylest will not allow me to get my hair highlighted again until June and my prom is at the end of april so i'm pretty much just stuck with these roots showing..anyways what should i do?? do many people wear there hair up for prom and have there roots showing...should i try to see if i can get my hair highted early?? ahhh!! HELP!
Ok my prom is coming up and i have a hair problem!!!?
What if you go with a temp high light. They are not as harsh on your hair and it would solve the problem. They wash out and fade alot faster compared to regular dye. Hope this helps and good luck!

there are numerous things you can do. dont worry.
1)you could try to touch it up at home. (have your mom or a friend help). it should do just fine.
2) have a different haristylist in the same salon touch up your color. how could they honestly screw it up? coloring is pretty standard.
3) find a hairstyle that will hide the fact you have roots. (possibly something down with curls). look somthing up here%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

You don't need to wait till June to get your hair highlighted just because your hairstylist said so. This is a prom....and if i were you, i'd just go to another hairstylist %26amp; get it done. You want to look good right? If you want your hair fixed, then GO FOR IT. I don't think your hairstylist cares enough for you to look good. You need to get those roots touched up as soon as possible. It won't kill you, so go ahead %26amp; do it, find another salon.

Hair Mascara
Senscience Color Effects Hair Mascara comes in four gorgeous colors: Champagne, Bronze, Copper, and Bordeaux.
There is a small brochure included that makes some suggestions on choosing a color based on your own hair color.
For example, if you are blonde, they suggest trying Champagne or Bronze. If you have brown hair, Bronze or Copper are recommended. If your hair is red, they also suggest trying the Bronze or Copper.
If your hair is dark brown or black, they recommend Bordeaux, Copper or Bronze. This are basic suggestions;
I think you can try any combination of these colors and have a ball experimenting, no matter what your hair color. I've tried it myself, and have come up with some pretty exciting looks!
Usage
Basically, style your hair first. You can brush the mascara on your hair wherever you like, and the large round brush makes a nice feathery effect on the hair. You can also load up the brush with color, then run it through your thumb and forefinger, pinch a small section of hair stroke the color up on the hair.
The Senscience experts make these recommendations as well:
"For short hair--Apply mascara with its brush, using small, light strokes.
For long hair--Hold the section of hair you want to highlight and apply with the mascara brush. Use long strokes from root to tip of hair.
For an even, natural finish--Wait 5 minutes for applied color to dry, then brush hair lightly once.
For maximum drama--Stroke through and allow to dry. Do not brush to blend. Try highlighting the tips of your hair only---a part, bangs or a favorite curl to accentuate your hairstyle."
Packaging %26amp; Cost
Senscience Color Effects Hair Mascara comes in a clear plastic mascara tube with gold lettering. It is as easy as mascara to apply. The cost is around $11.95. (USD).
Fragrance
The fragrance is light and slightly medicinal-smelling, however, the scent does not linger on your hair.
Although it shampoos out easily, it does stay well on the hair when you put it on

Ok well there is a number of things you can do.One like you said is the up-do if it's done properly you cand probably hide all your roots(or most).You can also try temporary colouring at home or get a friend or parent to do the highlights for you(the kind you can buy at stores).Or if your hairdresser refuse's try finding another but make sure their good not a random pick because you might end up with more messed up hair than before.Hope everything works out,good luck
