I have a very formal, long, strapless, deep red dress. Our Prom theme is Hollywood. I don't really care if it's up or down. I just really have no idea what to have the stylist do. I have long, dark brown hair. If possible add pictures please! Thanks so much!

Definitely up! Up-do's look great w/ straples dresses, and a single strand of pearls or simple necklace aroudnd your neck.
Around here, ppl go to hair salons and get it done for about $20 or so.... maybe you could do that? Don't go w/ clean hair. They like it a day or two after being washed so it will stay in the style they set it.

i suggest you wear your hair up. strapless gowns are meant to flaunt a woman's exquisite shoulders. ;)
and if we are to consider what's in this season, think femme and romance --- marie antoinette in a mod sense. maybe that will inspire you on how to fix your hair.
i've found several hairstyle sites that you may be able to take more inspiration from.

Do it big and curley. A lot of stars have their har curley on the red carpet now. Look at pictures from the last awards show.
