Keep it straight, put it in a low bun, and have it spike out everywhere, leave some strands in the front to hang down. Or, if your hair hates to curl, but you want it curly put it in a high ponytail and curl each strand with a really hot curling iron then bobby pin it to your head so it will all eventually shape into a bun.
